India’s 3rd Test match against England in Rajkot on Day 3 was a standout moment as opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (retired injured) and skipper Shubman Gill (65) put India ahead. Mohammed Siraj’s 4 for 84 helped the hosts secure a 126-run first-innings lead over Ben Stokes and Co. earlier. In India’s second innings, Jaiswal put on a strong display with his third Test century before being retired injured, while Gill scored a fifth test fifty. Both Joe Root and Tom Hartley of England took a wicket each on Saturday.

The third Test in New Delhi saw Yashasvi Jaiswal retire injured after scoring a daring century, increasing India’s lead over England to 322 runs. On day three, India reached 196-2 in their second innings at Rajkot by the end of the third day. Shubman Gill (65) and Kuldeep Yadav (three), the nightwatchman, were both playing. Due to a family emergency, Ashwin was not present and India had 10 players.

By scoring a magnificent double-century in Visakhapatnam, India was instrumental in reviving the series after their loss to Sri Lanka in the opener. Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal delivered another impressive fifty runs off his own stump and put India in the lead in the third Test at Niranjan Shah Stadium.

He proved his skill to be a dangerous left-hander when conditions are suitable, and he achieved this with ease by scoring a daring century off just 122 balls, which was his second in the series and third in the format. This innings has not yet seen him through. Despite having to deal with his stiff back, which prevented him from retiring on Saturday at number 104, it is anticipated that he will return feeling fresh on Sunday. Up until now, he has managed to hit nine boundaries and five maximums.

Gradually, he is becoming a solid and reliable opener for India, providing much-needed stability to the top order. Since then, India have had few steady openers in recent times with the exception of Rohit Sharma as captain.

In Rajkot, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his third Test century on Day 3 of the 3rd Test against England.

Due to back spasms, Jaiswal retired after scoring 104 runs from 133 deliveries.

At stumps on Day 3, India had a lead of 322 runs against England.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was not expected to resume batting after being injured on Day 3 of the third Test in Rajkot on February 17, according to former cricketers and experts Anil Kumble and Nick Knight.

It was a good decision to call back Jaiswal, who appeared to be in great pain from back spasms, according to Kumble and Knight.

He called for medical attention and then on 103, his back started to seize and he sank slowly at the end of the non-striker. He was lying on his stomach with the physio doing a lot of work on his lower back and stretching out his left leg. After reaching the 43rd point in his innings, Jaiswal unexpectedly stopped and decided to continue playing. It seemed like he was just walking away from the physio after crossing the stumps at the other end. In spite of this, at the end of his next game, a message was heard from everyone in the dressing room and he exited the field.

There was only one more charming moment that could be expected, as Stokes would intervene and give Jaiswal a high-five, which was a perfect compliment to his knock.

I don’t think he could carry on as he had made an effort. After the physio came in for the first time, he returned to bat once more. Even after trying again, he couldn’t achieve the desired outcome. Had he the ability, I’m sure his bat would have persisted today. Kumble conveyed on Jio Cinema that he couldn’t continue, and it was not only affecting him.
