Ruturaj Gaikwad’s Replacement For The IND Vs SA Test Series Is Abhimanyu Easwaran

During the second ODI against South Africa in Gqeberha, Gaikwad injured his right ring finger.

After consulting with an expert and undergoing scans, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has decided to exclude Gaikwad from the remainder of his tour, as stated by the BCCI Medical Team. Gaikwad will be entrusted with the responsibility of reporting to the NCA for further treatment of his injury.

As a top order batter, Easwaran has been leaving the Indian team for several years. The batter has played in the A tours on a regular basis for several years and scored 6567 runs from 88 First Class matches, with an average of 47.24 runs per game over that duration. Easwaran, who is currently 28 years old, had informed India Today in 2023 that he would not be abandoning his dream of playing for India, as he was absent from the West Indies Test series.

Harshit Rana, the fast bowler, will not be able to participate in the four-day match against South Africa A at Willowmoore Park in Benoni starting on 26th December due to his hamstring injury. India A’s squad has welcomed back Mr Rajat Patidar, Mr Sarfaraz Khan, Mr Avesh Khan and Mr Rinku Singh from the Selection Committee, while Mr Kuldeep Yadav has been released.

Due to an emergency in his family, Virat Kohli of India, a star team, had to fly back home earlier today. According to BCCI insiders, Virat Kohli is expected to make a comeback before the first Test match on 26 December, but they didn’t disclose much about the emergency.

BCCI declared earlier on 17 December, citing Ishan Kishan’s reasons, to exclude him from the series. BCCI, KS Bharat () as a substitute.
